Formerly of Smith & Smith Architects, King joined Ellis, Ricket in 2006 as a Project Architect. King’s passion for historic renovation has been prevalent throughout his career. This led him to being the current chairman of the Valdosta Historic Preservation Committee and has held that post for several years. His work with his father (as Smith & Smith, Architects) for the rehabilitation of Lulu’s restaurant in downtown Valdosta was recognized as an award recipient by the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation.

 

King’s experience goes far beyond historic preservation as he hasdesigned a variety of educational, business, civic and healthcare projects. His knowledge of structural detailing and construction enables King to create innovative yet practical design solutions.
