Description: 

 

This Project includes the demolition of an existing two story stucco dormitory to allow construction of a new three-story academic structure to house the Psychology Department on the main campus of Valdosta State University. 

 

Construction is steel frame with CMU infill walls, CMU elevator shaft, concrete floor slabs, and concrete roof deck. Roof consists of a tapered deck and modified bitumen roofing and clay tile mansard.   The roof is pitched and was constructed with clay time to match the campus.

 

Exterior finish is stucco, cast stone lintels, cast stone brackets at entry porches, and timber framing with timber brackets for the tile roof. The building has metal framed windows and a clay tile mansard roof at the perimeter and entry porches.

 

The building provides offices, classrooms, laboratories, support spaces, clinical space and a 160-seat auditorium.
